Custom Accordion Doors - Home & Commercial Applications

Measuring & Installing Accordion Doors
Measuring for an accordion door
Measure the width of the opening. Measuring Width Of Door
Measure the height of the opening on both sides and in the middle. Use the shortest height of the three measurements. Measuring Height Of Door
Installation of an Accordion Door
Open the box and remove the contents. Remove Accordion Door From Box
Dry fit the track in the opening. The track can be shortened with a hack saw, but, remember to clean out any shavings before they get mixed up with the grease. Fit The Track In The Opening
The next step is a lot easier if you get someone to give you a hand. Stand the door on end then feed the track onto the wheels making sure each of wheels is properly aligned. Place the track and door into the opening then screw one end of the track to the header using the screws provided. We suggest putting the first couple screws in at this time. Mounting One End Of The Track
Move the door across the track as shown exposing the other end of the track. Slide Accordian Door To Other End
Secure the remainder of the track. Secure The Remainder Of The Track
Dry fit the jamb molding directly under and touching the track. Check that the jamb molding is plumb and mark the edge for reference during installation. Dry Fit The Jamb Molding

Mark The Edge Of The Jamb Molding
Using a pencil mark the location of the strike hole. Mark The Location Of The Strike Hole
Using a 3/8" bit drill out the marked strike hole plus the area 1/2 " above to a depth of 1/2". Marked Area

Drill Out The Marked Strike Hole
Install the jamb molding tight to the track and lined up with the mark made earlier. Install The Jamb Molding Tight To The Track
Stack the door tight against the jamb and let it hang plumb. Using a pencil mark the location of the jamb panel edge. Stack The Door Tight Against The Jamb

Mark The Location Of The Jamb Panel Edge
Extend the door, line the jamb panel up with the marks you made and screw it to the jamb using the screws provided. We suggest securing it in at least three places (low, middle and high) and doing the low place first. Secure The Jamb Panel To Jamb With Screws

Finishes & Finish Options
The series 140, 220, 240, 2100, and 3300 accordion door panels are available with 14 standard vinyl-laminate colors and 6 hardwood choices along with optional decorative murals. The greatest advantage to our accordion doors is that they can be fabricated unfinished and ready for staining or can be primed for your paint. Special paint finishes can be applied at the factory and we can even match existing colors and finishes. Optional Laminates can be applied such as Formica, Wilsonart, Pionite, and Navamar.

The 440 and 540 series accordion door panels are available in the colors clear or bronze.

The 640 and 740 series accordion door panels are available in the colors clear aluminum, bronze colored aluminum, or gold colored aluminum.

The greatest advantage to our custom accordion folding doors is that you can have them made using any of the following series of panels combined: 240, 440, or 640.

ADA Compatible
The Series 140, 220, 240, 440, and 540 were tested for ADA compliance for opening load force per ADA/BOMA SEC 4.1311. Tests conducted by MEI Charlton, Inc., Portland, OR. Certain ADA applications may require a specific handle location. Please specify the handle placement with your order.
